Seneca High employee accused of soliciting nude photos from student

TABERNACLE — An employee at Seneca High School here is accused of requesting nude photos from a student.

Michael Van Kline, 42, of Lumberton allegedly held sexual conversations with the student via social media, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Van Kline, described as a paraprofessional at Seneca, “convinced the student to send him nude photos, and suggested the two meet to have sex,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Investigators are looking for other potential victims, the statement said.

Additional information was held to protect the Seneca student’s privacy.

Suspect also works as DJ MikeSmooV

Officials of the Lenape regional district, which includes Seneca, have swept Van Kline from school property or events “going forward,” according to the prosecutor’s statement.

The suspect’s LinkedIn page identifies him as an 11-year Lenape employee.

Van Kline also works as DJ MikeSmooV, with YouTube videos showing him in performance at proms and weddings.

Anyone who believes they have been victimized by Van Kline is asked to contact investigators at [email protected].

Van Kline was arrested Thursday on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was released from Burlington County Jail after a court appearance on Friday.

The charges against Van Kline, who did not respond to a request for comment, are only allegations. He has not been convicted in the case.
